Good habits can take time to cultivate, but the rewards can be well worth the investment. We grow up with the trappings of the typical unhealthy North American lifestyle. When we come to the point in our lives where we realize we need to invest more time and energy in our health, and make more intelligent choices, it can be a wonderful opportunity for self growth.
We are creatures of habit, and sometimes change can be difficult. You can't expect years of certain eating habits to change overnight. Remember to be patient ... take baby steps when implementing lifestyle changes. Try adding positive things to your routines a little at a time. You should find that little by little, your positive changes can reap wonderful rewards.
Many of the things we have in our lives are there because of commerce. We live in a world where many people want to make as much money as they can, and often they take shortcuts to do this. Many of our foods these days are genetically modified, contain artificial colours and flavours, or have been treated with antibiotics or hormones.
There are healthy alternatives ... if we choose to make positive changes in our lives, we can move toward reducing harmful substances and grow stronger. It begins with a commitment to yourself.
You have to want to change, and you can't allow your insecurities and self doubts to sabotage your success. Often our accomplishments and our failures can be self fulfilling prophecies ... you might as well choose success!
